Monsanto = Dioxin, Glyphosate, Roundup and Agent Orange and are legally poisoning our food and the environment. It must stop.

Latest news reports on Monsanto’s Glyphosate, the active ingredient in the popular weed-killer, Roundup indicate that it is present in California wines, Quaker Oats and even in the urine of elected officials in Europe.

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup, Roundup is made by Monsanto. Same Monsanto that produced Agent Orange (an earlier chemical was Dioxin) which is responsible for the ongoing, horrific birth defects in Viet Nam where it was widely used as a defoliant and sprayed from planes into the bush and over remote villages. These chemicals also affect the US children of those active duty military and veterans that were exposed. What is chilling is the fact that these chemicals have also been either stored or used here in the United States.

Agent Orange is connected to the 25% of Veterans testing positive for Diabetes 2 per the VA’s own website–the general population is at 8-10%. (As soon as you are diagnosed through the VA with Diabetes 2, the second question is “to your knowledge, were you ever exposed to Agent Orange?” So the VA is well aware of this connection).

The VA will not pay out any monies/disability to Agent Orange victims unless the veteran was stationed in Viet Nam. Per the veterans themselves and some of their most recent reports, Agent Orange was not used, stored or transported exclusively in Viet Nam.

The Risks are Supposed to be Secret on this Globe Full of Victims

50% of our general population will get cancer during their lifetime or have it already. And this directly affects all of us as many of us have loved ones with cancer or know someone that has died from it. Those of us who got our diagnosis already are working hard at staying alive. We will live the rest of our lives constantly detoxing. Some of us who are veterans have both cancer and diabetes and both conditions are connected to the use of Agent Orange and other Monsanto chemicals per the VA's own website. We have probably been poisoned.

The important thing to note about these reports is that the IARC, a World Health Organization working group of doctors published their findings last year showing that Roundup’s Glyphosate “probably causes cancer.” Their report was posted on the LANCET website last year. Immediately after the report was published, Monsanto demanded a retraction of the IARC’s findings but they never got it.

These are ways that corporate media, news outlets and government agencies censor, omit or create a critical buzz regarding information and attempt to keep it from those who need it most; like journalists, victims and medical workers. And of course to cover up the crimes by the corporations and any possibility of them being held accountable.

The other alarming trends and side effects of the regular use of these toxins includes the killing off of our pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, etc. Some of these populations are now collapsing. We are already losing approximately 200 species a day due to extinction. Without the pollinators, we will not be able to sustain our current food supplies.

Will we be next? Some scientists say we are at extinction levels now. Many questions need to be raised about the continued use of these toxins. Roundup is the one most widely used in the US and at the same time, is being banned in many other countries.

“This planet is Gaia because of her evolutionary adaptive capacity. The only question to ask is will human beings be around in that adaptive context,” Dr. Vandana Shiva, Eckerd College, March 9, 2015.

Our Demands and Why We March

Labeling GMOs or genetically modified organisms in our food products and produce is the other reason why we march. I believe at the very LEAST companies should be accurately labeling them, but I would prefer the permanent banning of all GMO products. March Against Monsanto calls for two events a year: in May and October. The events are to increase awareness about the need for labeling food that contains GMO’s. This would give the consumers all of the information they need to know so they can make educated choices for themselves and their families.

I want to take it a step further.

I call for a permanent ban on Roundup and other similar agro-chemicals.

And a boycott of anyone that is using them. We are literally marching for our lives.

LIAR OF THE WEEK: DR. PATRICK MOORE, LOBBYIST (OR MAYBE NOT) FOR MONSANTO

Dr. Patrick Moore was being questioned about golden rice for a documentary being filmed for Canal+ when the interviewer asked him about Monsanto’s weed killer product, Roundup. The following discussion took place and is on the video linked below. Monsanto claims that Dr. Patrick Moore does not speak for them or represent them in any capacity.

Last week it was established by a working group from the World Health Organization that Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup is indeed a carcinogen.

Dr. Patrick Moore: “You can drink a whole quart of (Roundup) and it won’t hurt you.”

Canal+: “You want to drink some? We have some here.”

Moore: “I’d be happy to, actually…. Uhh…Not.. Not really. But I know it wouldn’t hurt me.”

Canal+: “If you say so, I have some glyphosate, have some.”

Moore: “No. I’m not stupid.”

Canal+: “So, it’s dangerous, right?

Moore: “No, People try to commit suicide with it and fail; fail regularly.”

Canal+: “Tell the truth, it’s dangerous.”

Moore: “It’s not dangerous to humans.”

Canal+: “So, are you ready to drink one glass?”

Moore: “No, I’m not an idiot. Interview me about golden rice, that’s what I’m talking about.”

Canal+:  “We did.”

Dr. Moore then calls the host a “complete jerk” and walks out of the shot.

MONSANTO CONTINUES TO STRONG-ARM TRUTH ABOUT ROUNDUP HERBICIDE AND GLYPHOSATE

When one does an internet search and goes back far enough, there are plenty of articles accusing Monsanto and it’s products — such as Round-up and Agent Orange, of causing all kinds of diseases, genetic mutations and deformities; to include Cancer and Diabetes, the latter on the Veterans Administration’s own website. Did you know  Veterans, who were stationed in Vietnam do not even have to prove their illnesses have any connection to Agent Orange to get disability? It’s true, it is automatically presumed to be the cause.

More About The Conditions

The tolls taken by the Vietnamese people during the US Military’s widespread use of Agent Orange as a defoliant, were and still are heavy. These same weighty tolls are also paid by our own veterans and their families, generation after generation. For instance, the current the rate of Diabetes is at 24% for veterans while only 8% for the general population. No doctor has been able to explain the large disparity.

Agent Orange — RoundUp — Monsanto. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, has been linked to Autism. Autism itself is on the rise, as are a host of other diseases.  At the going rate, projections show half the children born by 2050 will have Autism.

What is even more frightening are the amounts of the product being used. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has estimated the United States’ agricultural use of Roundup in 2012 was more than 283 million pounds. This number is way up from 110 million pounds logged just 10 years before. 

Discrediting And Science For Sale

Unless one has been living under a rock, this is all old news and the “GMO-deniers” continually say that some of these claims and reports are based on “junk” or  “pseudo” science and there seems to be a concerted effort in media [both corporate and alternative] to discredit doctors that speak out against Monsanto; particularly female doctors. Is it the “good ‘ole boy” network at work?

Our medical system and our health itself has been hijacked. Corporations and money rule. Like everything else in the land of oligarchy and corporate rule, science with all of it’s facts, data, reports, peer reviewed papers and studies can be bought for a price.

Getting The Facts Right And Outright Lies

Very quietly, two weeks ago a World Health Organization’s (WHO) working group, called the The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), published a report stating that Monsanto’s RoundUp and other company’s products containing, Glyphosate “probably” can cause Cancer. Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide in the world.

Other notable scientists have expressed their same concerns such as Dr. Stephanie Seneff, a research scientist for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dr. Vandana Shiva, world renowned author, public speaker, advocate and scientist.

One of the most untrue statements was that glyphosate was so safe for humans, it could be consumed just like lemonade.

A lobbyist for Monsanto, Dr. Patrick Moore (who Monsanto claims is not an official lobbyist or spokesperson for their company) found himself in a tight spot when stating during an interview for a French documentary that glyphosate was completely safe for humans and drinkable but refused to drink a glass of it when offered.

The Latest Developments

Monsanto has asked for WHO/IARC to retract their study this week saying such studies are not valid. Critics however, say the studies merit attention.

Philip Miller who is Monsanto’s vice-president of global regulatory affairs, told Reuters:

“We question the quality of the assessment,” and “The WHO has something to explain.”

Miller claimed that the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) was given detailed information by Monsanto with specifics on glyphosate’s safety and that it ignored the data.

Dave Schubert, the head of the cellular neurobiology laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California, said:

“There are a number of independent, published manuscripts that clearly indicate that glyphosate … can promote cancer and tumor growth, it should be banned.“

Russia has banned genetically modified foods and Monsanto products and the company is regrouping after they sued and lost a lawsuit in a county in Hawaii that established a similar ban. Other countries have carried out restrictions and bans and many more are expected to follow suit.

On May 23rd, 2015, another global March Against Monsanto event is scheduled. Monsanto is killing us slowly. This is a real war. We cannot allow Monsanto to win as a global superpower.

WILL HALF OF US CHILDREN HAVE AUTISM BY 2025?

Cases of Autism are rising rapidly throughout the United States. According to Dr. Seneff, a research physician with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), if the rapidly escalating rate continues, half of all children in the United States will have Autism by 2025. Over the last decade, numbers and rates of Autism in Europe have flat-lined. Currently in the US, one child out of every 68 has the disease.

How Can This Be?

Dr. Stephanie Seneff believes that in addition to the chemicals found in vaccines the main culprit is in contaminated food. A main chemical in question is called Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup that is the major culprit. It is also important to note that the maker of Roundup is Monsanto, the same company that created Agent Orange, a defoliant widely used in Viet Nam by the US Military, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) in our foods and GMO seeds.

Dr. Moench’s theory is that Autism is caused by a combination of factors. He referred to a recent article that stated that 1/3 of the cases were due to a genetic propensity and 2/3 were caused by environmental triggers. He said some people did not have the natural ability to produce a detoxifier called Glutithione. He says we cannot change genetics but we can change the environment. He noted that Autism is not one condition but a full spectrum of disorders and affects people a variety of different ways. Chemical exposure and toxicity seems to play a role most of the time.

Facts?

Glyphosate is in almost everything we eat; it is even directly sprayed on wheat before harvesting. Anything with soy or corn has glyphosate, so that would include meat and meat products (as animals would have the chemical in their feed) in addition to vegetables and fruits.

In addition to Autism, the other diseases and conditions that can be tracked down to poisoning by Glyphosate include the following; this list is not inclusive:

• Dementia
• Parkinson’s
• Alzheimer’s
• Diabetes
• Obesity
• Gastrointestinal Diseases
• Cardiovascular Disease
• Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)
• Multiple Sclerosis 
• Cancer
• Depression
• Infertility

In the US Military, if a veteran processes into a Veteran’s Administration (VA) Medical facility, the first question he or she is asked if they have Diabetes is, “Were you stationed in Viet Nam?” and the second is, “To your knowledge, were you exposed to Agent Orange?” Currently 8% of the US general population has Diabetes. According to the VA’s own website, 24% of veterans have Diabetes.

The Science of Politics

Additional chemicals in Roundup are considered “inert” but according to a recent 2014 study, the “inert” chemicals increase the toxic effects of the Roundup hundreds of times over. The cumulative effect of consuming food products with only small amounts of Glyphosate can still be dangerous. A recent study reveals that women living near farms have a 60% chance of having a child with Autism. Glyphosate is also in breast milk in 760 to 1600 times the allowable limits in European drinking water.

What is not known by many or even discussed is who does the research science and peer-reviewed papers and studies on these findings or with the opposing studies? It is shocking that most of the studies are done by scientists working with Monsanto. Monsanto is also the top lobbying company in Washington, DC. Eighteen of the twenty-four lobbyists worked in government jobs before becoming employed by Monsanto. OpenSecrets.org also reveals that Monsanto funds the campaigns of many of our politicians through their Political Action Committee (PAC). It’s convenient to have a PAC in order to get legislation passed easily.

How Do You Help?

Stop using Roundup! Support GMO Labeling. Read labels on everything. Do not confuse the “Natural” label with organic or “non GMO” standards. Support the Organic Consumers Association and other similar organizations. Be an informed consumer and do your research for yourself and your family.

In the United States Dr. Moench stated that we are all being used as guinea pigs as the Precautionary Principle is not being used and it should be! Citizens need to demand unbiased research regarding their food, water, medicines, farming practices, etc. Americans have a right to know how their food is produced.
